Cyber Bullying Short Story
I have found this article about this boy named Ryan Halligan, who commited suicide after excessive cyber bullying and bullying:
John and Kelly Halligan lost their thirteen year old son, Ryan, to suicide on October 7, 2003. At the time of his death, Ryan was a student at a middle school in Essex Junction, Vermont. After Ryan’s death, it was revealed that he was ridiculed and humiliated by peers at school and on-line.
Ryan father writes: “A few days after his funeral I logged on to his AOL IM account because that was the one place he spent most of his time during the last few months. I logged on to see if there were any clues to his final action. It was in that safe world of being somewhat anonymous that several of his classmates told me of the bullying and cyber bullying that took place during the months that led up to his suicide. The boy that had bullied him since 5th grade and briefly befriended Ryan after the brawl was the main culprit. My son the comedian told his new friend something embarrassing and funny that happened once and the friend (bully) ran with the new information that Ryan had something done to him and therefore Ryan must be gay. The rumor and taunting continued beyond that school day … well into the night and during the summer of 2003.”
Ryan’s father, John, devotes his time to touring the United States and Canada, meeting with young people and promoting the need for more education and prevention of bullying, cyberbullying and teen suicide. He has also established a website in his son’s memory. - See more at:

Cyber Bullying blog entry 1
So currently, my topic is cyber bullying. One of the main reasons why I chose cyber bullying is because I saw many cases of cyber bullying. Around 3 - 4 years ago I used to play this online game, and everyone was really competitive about winning. So basically, if someone made a mistake, another person from the same team would start to verbally abuse him. The victim would retaliate and soon after that, the entire server would argue and verbally abuse the victim. The administrator was kind of corrupted, and he banned the victim over a simple mistake. At this one point, I made a mistake on the server, and as usual, someone in my team started to yell at me. Back then, I didn't know what to do, so in a way, I retaliated, leading to me getting banned from the server.

Powerful Images
I think that this image is one of the most powerful images from my list because it shows most forms of cyber bullying. This image shows that by taking nasty pictures of someone and posting it online can cause more harm than people think, and by commenting toxic comments on a video can also cause much more harm than people think it can cause. Overall, this image shows that cyber bullying can be as bad as normal bullying, and it is good to remember that there is a human being on the other side of the screen.
I think that this image is another powerful image because this image is straight forward and shows the effect of cyber bullying. The image shows that even a single click can lead to cyber bullying.

I think that this image is weaker compared to the first 2 images above because this image has the font of Facebook and Twitter. This shows that cyber bullying can occur even in popular websites.

Cyber bullying statement
I am studying about cyber bullying currently, and want to raise awareness about cyber bullying to people especially in high school. The main reason why I am researching cyber bullying is because people underestimate cyber bullying, and sometimes people cyber bully without knowing.

Cyber Bullying
Cyber bullying is an issue that is common in all developed countries. Cyber Bullying is the action when someone harasses someone else through the internet, most commonly in social media such as facebook. Cyber bullying may seem like a minor problem, but it is not. Cyber Bullying can cause depression, stress, and sometimes even suicide. Cyber Bullying may even happen without people knowing it, like someone may be cyber bullying even if they think they are not doing it. Cyber bullying includes: Spreading rumors through internet, kicking someone out of an online group, sending nasty messages and posting embarrassing pictures of someone else. Basically, if someone does something online to cause damage or to make someone feel bad, it is considered cyber bullying.
